BLESSINGS #1 The Diamond in You “Some people come in your life as blessings, and some come in your life as lessons.” ( St Teresa of Calcutta ) As we reflect on this quote of our dear Mother Teresa, our naked eyes would direct us to those people who have become blessings in our lives and those whom we may find so challenging to love.
But if we pause and allow these words to speak in our hearts, and if God asked us to ponder on who we are between these seeming two wings of relationships (one who is a blessing to others, and one who will be labeled as the lesson-bringer into others’ lives), what would this look like in our hearts? Who are we? In the great mystery of the dynamics of life, the reality is that we are both: one who enters into another's life as a blessing, and one who enters into someone else's life as a bringer of lessons, due to our human frailties. The invitation from Christ is to search for how we are a blessing as we bring love, peace, and joy to those around us, and for the times that we have brought difficulties, challenges, confusion, or an extremely unpleasant experience to others. Through it all, we learn to see the blessings that we need to hopefully become. We yield to God's mercy and grace so that in His infinite love, He may transform us from glory to glory; like a diamond's brilliance comes to be: “Brilliance is the visual effect created by Total Internal Reflection (TIR). When a light source travels through a diamond, some of the light rays experience TIR and cause a facet or multiple facets to act as mirrors, reflecting the full amount of light from the source to the viewer.” (From a diamond cutter...) “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor 3:18 #mvccBlessings
